CFIUS Green Lights ChemChina-Syngenta Deal Despite Political Opposition

Brushing aside opposition from members of the Senate Agriculture Committee, as well as U.S. food safety and farm groups, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States on Aug. 22 approved Chinese state-owned enterprise ChemChina's bid to acquire Swiss agribusiness giant Syngenta.
