Chinese export control law, with retaliation provision, takes effect Dec. 1

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday signed an export control law that will allow China to retaliate against export controls other countries impose on Beijing. The law is set to take effect on Dec. 1. Xi signed it after China’s National People’s Congress passed the bill following changes made to it earlier in the week.
