EU duties on Chinese EVs to take effect as talks continue

The European Union’s preliminary new duties on Chinese electric vehicles will become official this week, although the bloc is continuing its talks with Beijing to find an alternative solution. The European Commission’s countervailing investigation determined China’s battery EV industry benefited from improper subsidization and the bloc imposed preliminary duties earlier this year.
