Markup of AI export control bill reset to allow for more White House input

The House Foreign Affairs Committee has postponed consideration of a bill crafted to make it easier for the president to restrict exports of artificial intelligence systems and other emerging technologies so it can be revised to reflect additional feedback from the White House. “Our negotiations with the [administration] bore some last-minute fruit and now we need to incorporate that,” the committee’s press office told Inside AI Policy .
