New bills would cut dependence on China in critical minerals supply chains

Two bills introduced in the House this week -- one new and one newly reupped -- are aimed at reducing U.S. dependence on China for critical minerals and boosting domestic clean energy supply chains. The “Critical Minerals and Manufacturing Support Act” would extend a clean energy manufacturing tax credit to incentivize further domestic clean energy production while the “Intergovernmental Critical Minerals Task Force Act” would establish a group comprised of various government agencies to assess risks to such supply chains...
