Sources: USTR more likely to refile WTO aluminum challenge than pursue Obama case

The Trump administration may decide to revamp and strengthen a stalled Obama-era World Trade Organization challenge of Chinese subsidies to primary aluminum producers rather than proceed with the original case, sources told Inside U.S. Trade. Industry sources said the WTO case, filed in the waning days of the Obama administration, may have been rushed out the door ahead of President Trump's inauguration.
