Survey: U.S. companies in China feeling impact of trade dispute; some report more non-tariff barriers

U.S. companies operating in China are reporting increased non-tariff retaliatory measures as Washington and Beijing remain at loggerheads on trade, according to a new survey. AmCham China and AmCham Shanghai conducted the survey of their member companies from May 16-20, aiming to “assess the impact of the increase in U.S. and Chinese tariffs on companies operating in China.” Nearly 250 companies responded.
