U.S. suspends WTO dispute with China over IP practices

At the request of the U.S., the World Trade Organization will suspend until Dec. 31 a case alleging China fails to uphold intellectual property rights that was instigated by the U.S. last year. In its March 2018 challenge, the U.S. accused China of not allowing foreign patent holders to exercise their IP rights against joint venture companies after initial contracts ended.
