In WTO reform proposal, China targets U.S. tariff actions, ag support, SOEs

The World Trade Organization should tighten rules on unilateral trade actions, reduce agricultural support allowances for developed members and allow state-owned enterprises to operate “in an environment of fair competition,” China argued on Monday in a new proposal. The proposal also addresses the Appellate Body, trade remedies, special and differential treatment, transparency and ongoing negotiations.
