U.S., EU, Japan renew trilateral working group

U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai and her European and Japanese counterparts have renewed a trilateral working group set up to address the “non-market policies and practices of third countries,” according to a joint statement. The working group came to fruition after the World Trade Organization's 11th ministerial in December 2017 when the three countries issued a joint statement agreeing to work together on issues such as excess capacity, market-distorting subsidies and state-owned enterprises, and forced technology transfers.
