Rep. Larsen: A U.S.-China deal will be a ‘cessation of hostilities,' not a trade agreement

Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA) said Monday that any deal the U.S. and China might forge during ongoing talks will amount to a “cessation of hostilities” more than a trade agreement. “The U.S. and China are trying to work towards some March deadline to come up with a way out of the potential trade war. And folks are using the term ‘a trade agreement.’ What we end up with won’t be a trade agreement,” he said during a Brookings Institution podcast...
