Report: U.S. asks China to restart trade talks

U.S. officials have asked China to resume high-level trade negotiations in the near future as the Trump administration decides whether to implement new tariffs on Chinese goods, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. The U.S. effort is being spearheaded by Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and on the Chinese side by Vice Premier Liu He, according to the paper, which said the U.S. has asked Beijing for “ministerial-level” talks in either Beijing or Washington, DC, in the coming weeks...
