Taiwan seeks to join China’s WTO challenge to U.S. export controls on chips

Taiwan this week became the second World Trade Organization member to formally ask to join China’s dispute proceedings against U.S. export controls aimed at restricting Beijing’s access to advanced chips. Russia asked to join the consultations, the first step in a WTO dispute, late last month; China announced its plan to initiate the dispute on Dec. 12.
