Wyden to USTR: Investigate China's forced tech transfers, take 'appropriate' action

Ahead of a planned Section 301 investigation by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative that could be announced as early as this week, Senate Finance Committee ranking member Ron Wyden (D-OR) on Wednesday asked USTR Robert Lighthizer to investigate China's forced technology transfer policies and, as a result of that probe, take “appropriate action.” Wyden in his letter criticized the Trump administration for not having addressed to date what he called “critical” issues involving intellectual property rights with China...
