Chinese ambassador: Trilateral talks should not discriminate against China’s SOEs

GENEVA – The Chinese ambassador to the World Trade Organization on Tuesday warned members not to discriminate against Chinese state-owned enterprises, suggesting that some countries were intent on conflating Chinese SOEs with “public bodies.” Ambassador Zhang Xiangchen said China would reject changes to WTO rules that would result in Chinese SOEs being labeled as public bodies.
